PhD Journey day 1 - the news from PhD office and the plan

(Comments)

So today, I just got an email from the house of PhD, from my university that I only have around eight months to finish all the dissertation procedures. Until it is submitted. So basically, I don't have that much time! But I am super motivated because it gave me a clear view of where and how and when (very important) I have to run all these series!

Ok, so now I need to make a plan about it!
And to make sure that I will do a learning streak! I will write all this journey on my blog!

Ok, let's take a look at the last document and see what we can do!

So my strategy to do today is

  • 1. Create a mind map in Miro https://miro.com/app/board/o9J_lwW_84I=/
  • 2. Set the deadline
  • 3. Working on the last input that my professor gave to me.
  • 4. Some nice blogs to follow
    • a. Write your PhD in less than 2 months https://www.believeandempower.com/8-tips-to-write-a-thesis-in-30-days-bonus-tip-included/
  • 5. Loving your Grammarly account!
  • Re-active your Zotero account for the citation

Ok I also asking and re-asking before writing any article

the steps are

  1. Defining the research question
  2. Gathering information and background literature
  3. Forming a hypothesis and an outline
  4. Summarizing the analysis/ simulation / experiment
  5. Organizing and interpreting results
  6. Writing and communicating the result

Well, time for a summary and retrospective.

What I have learned from today is,

  1. It's good to have a deadline.
  2. It's good to be very honest with yourself, about what you are confident about on your paper.
  3. Read the abstract, intro, and conclusion.
  4. A survey is a literature review.
  5. Check whether you can find the data or not, so far the data can be found based on the topic in WOrldbank data, example about short term debt https://data.worldbank.org/indicator/DT.DOD.DSTC.IR.ZS?view=chart
